At Hambling View we believe that the partnership between home and school is a vital part of the success of our students and we strive to share information, advice and guidance to support parents to enable students to achieve their full potential, both at home and at school.
Attendance
At Hambling View we recognise the importance of excellent school attendance and punctuality to ensure the very best of outcomes for our students. Excellent attendance helps students to participate fully in the life of the school and more widely, in the local community.

School Timings
- 8:00am – 8:40am – Breakfast Club
- 8:40am – 9:00am – Tutor Group
- 9:00am – 9:50am – Lesson 1
- 9:50am – 10:40pm – Lesson 2
- 10:30am – 11:00am – Break
- 11:00am – 11:50am – Lesson 3
- 11:50am – 12:40pm – Lesson 4
- 12:40pm – 1:20pm – Lunch
- 1:20pm – 2:10pm – Lesson 5
- 2:10pm – 3:00pm – Lesson 6
Our daily school Breakfast Club will run from 8.00 – 8.40 am where students and staff can come and share a breakfast in a calm and nurturing environment. All members of Hambling View are welcome!

Hambling View term dates align with BANES Term Dates for the convenience of parents and carers who may have children at other schools within the local authority or nearby authorities.

Term 3 – Monday 6th January – Friday 14th February 2025
Term 4 – Tuesday 25th February – Friday 4th April 2025

However, our Inset Days are planned according to our school priorities so may be different to those of local schools.

Student Pick Up and Drop Off Routines
When dropping off and picking up from school at the start and end of the school day, please could we ask that all parents/carers follow these simple guidelines:
- Drive slowly when entering the car park and be vigilant for pedestrians and other cars
- Use the designated turning bays
- Wait for school staff to collect your child and escort them into the school gate so that they are safe from other moving vehicles
- If you arrive at the school outside of these times, please escort your child to the gate, ring the bell and a member of staff will come and collect your child from you to take them into school
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that all students are safe when entering and leaving the school site.
Reporting an Absence
While we know the importance of 100% attendance we also understand that there are occasions when our students are too unwell to come to school.
If your child wakes up in the morning and is too unwell to come in to school then please contact the school on the following number before 8:00 am on each day of absence with the reason for the absence.
If there is no answer then please leave an answerphone message leaving your name, your child’s name and the reason for their absence.
