Staying Safe Online – Protecting children’s privacy online

Staying connected to friends and peers online can be beneficial for children. However, it also poses significant risks. Chats conducted through a number of different platforms can expose children to dangers such as cyberbullying, scams, predators, inappropriate content, and malware.

The technology research company Comparitech has recently launched a guide to help parents, carers and educators protect children’s privacy online. The guide also tackles the issue of online privacy which can span not only protecting children from online predators but also things like preventing identity theft and ways to minimise the risks of the household computer becoming compromised.
